here is a photograph tucked into the corner of
Anchorage Children’s Home’s latest feature. A
porch with two black chairs pulled close together. A
ceiling fan caught mid-turn above a neatly dressed bed.
A kitchen with barstools tucked under the counter,
waiting for someone to come sit down.
Nothing about the image is dramatic. That is exactly
the point.

something else entirely. It is something built, on
purpose, by people who decided a young life was
worth the investment.
