Rather than self-publish alone, Fran’s
book found a home with Bell Asteri
Publishing, a nonpro昀椀t whose mission
is to improve the lives of children in the
cancer community through the art of
storytelling. All proceeds from Amazing
Grace and the Wishing Tree are donated
to Gold Together for Childhood Cancer,
the American Cancer Society’s Pediatric
Cancer Initiative, whose national
team includes Laura Eicher. The book,
complete with coloring pages, is being
placed directly into the hands of children
on cancer 昀氀oors, alongside crayons
donated through the publisher’s wish list –
so that a child in a hospital bed might, for a
moment, simply be a child with a book and
a box of crayons.
