of all abilities, a decision she calls complex,
trying, and deeply rewarding.
One student remains etched in her
memory: her 昀椀rst adult student with special
abilities to earn a black belt. Kesha worked
with her daily, on forms and exercises,
showing up for the good days and the

to the dojang, not because it was easy,
but because she didn’t want to give up on
herself.
That refusal became the foundation of

watched shy students 昀椀nd the courage
to lead warm-ups, and she has watched
people who doubted themselves discover
that consistent effort can carry them
further than talent alone.
Her hope for every student who walks
through her door has little to do with belts.
